Fawad Khan’s Pakistani Film The Legend of Maula Jatt Set for Release Exclusively in Punjab, India
Yesterday marked a moment of excitement for fans as it was announced that The Legend Of Maula Jatt, the acclaimed Pakistani blockbuster, is set to release in India on October 2. Starring the immensely popular Fawad Khan, the film has generated significant demand among Indian audiences eager to see it. This unexpected update has quickly become a hot topic across social media platforms. According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, The Legend Of Maula Jatt will not be released nationwide but will instead have a limited release in the state of Punjab. The reasons for this region-specific distribution remain unclear. Nonetheless, this release is poised to spark conversation and interest.
An industry expert noted, “This is the first Pakistani film to be released in India in over a decade. Fawad Khan has a vast fan base here. Having grossed over Rs. 200 crores at the box office and not yet being available on any streaming platform, curiosity about the film is at an all-time high among Indian fans.”The Punjabi-language film features a stellar cast, including Mahira Khan, Humaima Malik, and Hamza Ali Abbasi, and is directed by Bilal Lashari with production by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan.
The film will be distributed in India by Zee Studios and is based on a folk tale about a local hero confronting a formidable foe from a brutal clan.Bilal Lashari confirmed the limited release by sharing the film’s poster on Instagram, stating, “Releasing in India, Punjab on Wednesday, October 2! Two years in, and still house full on weekends in Pakistan! I can’t wait for our Punjabi audience in India to experience this labor of love!”Interestingly, The Legend Of Maula Jatt was initially set to debut in India on December 30, 2022, but that plan was postponed indefinitely.
