Deepak Tijori files FIR against Bhaiyyaji producer Vikram Khakhar for allegedly cheating him out of Rs. 17.50 lakhs

Deepak Tijori has lodged a police complaint against producer Vikram Khakhar at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai, accusing him of cheating and defrauding him of Rs. 17.50 lakhs. The complaint was filed by the actor and filmmaker on September 17, and Bollywood Hungama has obtained an exclusive copy of the police report. According to the FIR, Deepak Tijori first met Vikram Khakhar in 2019 when Khakhar was working as a line producer. During their meeting, Deepak discussed his stalled film Tipppsy, and Vikram offered to facilitate its shooting in London.

He informed Deepak that it would cost Rs. 15 lakhs to arrange the shoot. Deepak agreed to the proposal and transferred Rs. 17.40 lakhs to Vikram on March 3, 2020, which included the agreed amount plus GST.In his complaint, Deepak Tijori noted that whenever he inquired about the film’s progress, Vikram cited the Covid-19 pandemic as the reason for the delays in shooting. Even after the pandemic restrictions eased, Vikram continued to provide excuses for why production had not yet commenced. Realizing that Vikram had no intention of moving forward with the shoot of Tipppsy, Deepak requested a refund of his money. Vikram promised to return the funds, but he failed to do so.

On March 14, when Deepak reached out to him again, Vikram assured him he would meet, but he never showed up for the meeting.Additionally, Deepak Tijori discovered that the bills purportedly generated during efforts to revive Tipppsy clearly indicated that no expenses had been incurred on the film’s production.The FIR has been filed under Section 420 (cheating) and Section 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the newly enacted Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.Vikram Khakhar recently produced the Manoj Bajpayee film Bhaiyya Ji and is also one of the producers for the upcoming movie Talaakhon Mein Ek, starring Vikrant Massey and Raashii Khanna.
