Yami Gautam, the talented actor known for her roles in films like Badlapur, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Bala, A Thursday, and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, is all set to star in the upcoming political drama titled “Article 370.” The makers of the film have announced that it will hit theaters on February 23. A teaser for the movie was unveiled recently, giving audiences a glimpse into the intense storyline.

In the teaser, Yami Gautam, in a fierce avatar, is seen grappling with the issue of terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. She boldly asserts that the terrorism plaguing the region is not a result of people fighting for freedom, but a business perpetuated by corrupt politicians. Yami’s character highlights the need to withdraw the special status accorded to Jammu & Kashmir in order to bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice.

The teaser concludes with a gripping scene, showing Yami pointing a gun at someone, her face bloodied and determined. As the screen fades to black, a voiceover declares that Article 370 will be abrogated, removing the special status of Jammu & Kashmir and transforming it into Union Territories.

“Article 370” is a powerful narrative inspired by true events that have shaped the destiny of Kashmir. The film, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, is backed by Jio Studios & B62 Studios, promising to deliver a thought-provoking cinematic experience.

Yami Gautam will be playing the role of an intelligence agent in the movie, which revolves around the mission to dismantle terrorism in Kashmir by rendering Article 370 ineffective. This challenging role showcases Yami’s versatility and her ability to bring depth and authenticity to her characters.

The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar. It’s worth mentioning that Aditya Dhar, who is Yami’s husband, previously directed her in the 2019 action blockbuster “Uri: The Surgical Strike.” The couple tied the knot in 2021, and their collaboration in “Article 370” is sure to pique the interest of fans.

“Article 370” delves into a significant moment in history when the Central government revoked Article 370 on August 5, 2019. This constitutional amendment granted special status to the former state of Jammu and Kashmir before it was bifurcated into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
