Finally the trailer of the most awaited films of Bollywood- Mohalla Assi has hit the social media circles much before it was released officially by the filmmakers. This has been leaked over YouTube much before its official launch. The film has Sunny Deol and Sakshi Tanwar in the lead roles. Sunny would be making his comeback with this film, while Sakshi makes her debut in Bollywood with this film after ruling the small screen for more than a decade with hit daily soaps at various TV channels in India.
The movie is shot on the city of ghats (Banaras) unlike the ones called Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Banaras and Raanjhana. The movie is a satire based on the commercialization of the holy city Varanasi. Sunny Deol is playing the character of a Sanskrit teacher and an orthodox priest, while Sakshi plays his wife’s character. As you check the promos, it seems interesting, which portrays the story of Banaras during the post independence period. The movie is based on the novel called Kashi Ka Assi by Dr. Kashinath, while it is directed by Prakash Dwivedi who is known for his acclaimed film called Pinjar in the year 2003.
