Feroz Khan Biography :

This veteran Bollywood actor needs no introduction, while this biography is mere a formality since any B Town fan would know him in and out. He was among the most flamboyant actor of his time with his cowboy image along with being a director and producer of Bollywood movies. He is called as the Clint Eastwood of the East apart from being the style icon of B Town. He was born in Bangalore in 1939 in a Pathan family of Afghan father and Iranian mother. He went to Bishop Cotton Boy’s School in Bangalore and later St. Germain High School. After his schooling, he headed to Bombay wherein he got the chance to do his debut as a second lead in a film called Didi in the year 1960. All his brothers are key actors and filmmakers of Bollywood, while his son Fardeen Khan too is an actor in Hindi movies.

After making a debut as a second lead in a movie called Didi, he did a number of low budget movies opposite a number of starlets appearing in Tarzan Goes to India with Simi Garewal, while his first big hit was Ooche Log by Phani Majumdar in the year 1965 wherein he worked with ace actors like Raj Kapur and Ashok Kumar. This followed another set of small budget movies, till he got his first Filmfare Award for the movie called Aadmi Aur Insaan in the year 1969 under the category of Supporting Role. Some of his early hits include Khotey Sikkay, Pyasi Sham, Geeta Mera Naam, Safar, and Shankar Shambhu. He also appeared with his own brother Sanjay Khan in movies like Mela, Nagin and Upaasna, which are counted in the list of big hits.

As a producer, he started his career in 1971 by making a movie called Apradh, which was even screened in Germany and as a director his first movie was Dharmatma, which is the first B Town movie to be made in Afghanistan that turned out a big hit with Hema Malini. In the 70’s and 80’s he remained the lead star of a number of Bollywood movies apart from directing and producing a number of movies. Qurabani was one of the biggest blockbuster of his film career, which he did with Zeenat Aman, which helped the Pakistani pop singer Nazia Hassan to make her debut in Bollywood. He launched his son with the movie called Prem Aggan, which happened to be a sensual movie making big over the box office.

Later his movie Janasheen for his son Fardeen, which also did average over the box office, however, his next movie Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena in the year 2005 with his son Fardeen did well over the box office. Some of the recent movies include Welcome wherein he appeared with Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor. This proved out to be his last movie in Bollywood since he was battling with Cancer left this mortal world. Talking about his personal life, he married to Sundari Khan a known Fashion Designer in 1965 whom he had met in one of the parties. After dating for around five years, the couple settled down with the wedding. However, Feroz separated from Sundari in the year 1985 with a divorce. He breathed his last breath in Bangalore on 27th April 2009 and was buried close to her mother.
