Brahmastra: Amid boycott trend Alia Bhatt gives a befitting response

The boycott army has become active once again and this time Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra is the target. Recently in one of the interviews when Alia was asked about nepotism her ‘If you don’t like me, don’t watch me’ statement sparked and netizens got another reason to ‘boycott Brahmastra’.

As promoting the movie with Ranbir Kapoor and director Ayan Mukerji, Alia poked fun at the trend while the boycott calls appeared to have increased.

When asked about the current climate during a recent press conference in New Delhi in reference to boycott demands surrounding her upcoming movie Brahmastra, Alia questioned whether the media was referring to the summer or the winter. She continued by stating that everything is lovely and pleasant and that there is no such thing as a terrible atmosphere.

She maintained that everyone right now needed to be healthy, safe, and secure, as well as grateful for life in general. She also begged that no negative be circulated about anything. She expressed her delight that the theatres are now completely operational and that they can display their work for the audience to view on the big screen.

Recently released films including Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, and Taapsee Pannu’s Dobaaraa appear to have been adversely affected by the boycott demands. It remains to be seen whether Brahmastra will break through and go past the social media boycott trends.

Brahmastra is said to send the audience to a new dimension called Astraverse, which will delve into numerous historical or mythological aspects of Indian culture. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna in lead roles. It also has a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. The film, which was made on a Rs 400 crore budget, will be released in theatres around the world on September 9.
