Box office: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Neha Sharma’s ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ has a poor start; The Kerala Story continues its good run
The Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Neha Sharma-starrer romantic comedy ‘Jogira Sara Ra Ra’ released on 26 May, has a poor start at the box office. As per BoxofficeIndia, the film only managed to collect Rs. 30 lakh on its opening day, which is not a good start. The film had an overall occupancy of 10.31% in the Hindi belt. The film also received mixed response from the critics.
If the film continues to do such numbers for another couple of days, it will be a complete washout for this romantic comedy. Jogira Sarara Ra Ra is helmed by Kushan Nandy and produced by Naeem A. Siddiqui. The film also stars Sanjay Mishra, Zarina Wahab, and Mahaakshay Chakraborty in supporting roles.
The film’s story revolves around Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Jogi Pratap, a matchmaker and perfect ‘jugaadu’ who runs his own company, Shaandaar Events, that takes care of all the wedding needs and Dimple (Neha Sharma), a rebellious and quite modern lady. She enlists Jogi’s help to devise a plot to ‘disarrange’ her marriage and what happens next is the remainder of the story.
For the unversed, Jogira Sara Ra Ra was supposed to be released on 12 May . However, due to multiple competing picture releases that weekend, the release date was pushed back.
Meanwhile, Nawazuddin recently got caught in a controversy when several media outlets reported that he asked for a ban ‘The Kerala Story’. However the actor put an end to this by calling a fake news and he also remarked that he will never support a film ban, referring to it as a ‘cheap TRP’ strategy employed by some media outlets.
On the other hand, the much talked about film ‘The Kerala Story’ has continued its good run at the box office even in its fourth week. The film minted Rs. 2.6 crore nett on its fourth Friday, taking its total Indian collection to Rs. 216 crore nett.
