Before chopping off his hair to film Extraction, Randeep Hooda apologized at a Gurudwara, here’s why!

In 2020, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda made his entry into Hollywood with the Netflix film, Extraction. The talented actor shared the screen space with Chris Hemsworth in this film and garnered a lot of praises from the critics and audience. The actor reveals that he was actually preparing for his role for the film Battle of Saragarhi and was growing beard and hair for the same. Although, he made a promise at Amritsar’s Golden Temple gurudwara that he will chop off his hair only once he finishes his shoot for the Battle of Saragarhi. But then he had to chop off early and hence he apologized at the gurudwara.

As reported in Candy magazine, Randeep said, “I’m very grateful that I got to work with such an amazing cast and crew. I was preparing for something else. For three years, I had not done any work, I grew a beard and my hair and I promised at the Golden Temple that I will not cut my Kesh till I complete the movie (the shelved film on Battle Of Saragarhi).”

“Then I tried to refuse that movie. But then I literally looked open my eyes a bit wider and looked at the situation, that movie was not going anywhere. So I went to the Gurdwara, apologised, cut my kesh (hair), and went on to this movie (Extraction), and I didn’t realise it’s going to be such a big action film. When I read the script, there was a description of the action, but I didn’t know it was gonna be like that,” he further adds,

In 2019, while in an interview with Hindustan Times, Randeep Hooda spoke on the Battle of Saragarhi being shelved, he said, “I think the story of the Battle of Saragarhi is still begging for a better film despite all the films out there.”
