Ayushmann Khurrana and Raaj Shaandilyaa are set to collaborate once again, following their successful partnership on Dream Girl and Dream Girl 2. Reports suggest that the duo is in talks for an upcoming comedy film. Pinkvilla has exclusively revealed that negotiations are underway, and if all goes well, filming may commence in the near future. However, an official confirmation is yet to be made. According to a source close to the project, Raaj has penned a hilarious family comedy script, and Ayushmann has shown keen interest in being a part of the film. “The film is a standalone comedy and not Dream Girl 3. Raaj is writing a unique comic entertainer, and Ayushmann is impressed with the basic concept of the film. The writing process will be completed within a month, followed by a narration,” revealed the insider.
This will mark Ayushmann’s first collaboration with Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions. The untitled film will be helmed by Aakash Kaushik and is said to be a one-of-a-kind espionage comedy. Sources close to the production, as shared with PinkVilla, have expressed excitement about the project. They believe that the script has successfully blended elements of espionage and comedy, making it a commercially viable film with the perfect mix of scale, thrill, action, and humor. Karan, Guneet, and Aakash believe that Ayushmann Khurrana is the ideal fit for the character.

The source added, “The film is scheduled to go on floors in a couple of months, and the official announcement, including the title, is just around the corner. The remaining cast for the upcoming film includes Ananya Pandey as the female protagonist, along with Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manjot Singh, Rajpal Yadav, and others. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the label Balaji Motion Pictures, Dream Girl 2 was released on August 25, 2023.
