In the election season when we saw the Election Commission holding up the biopics on Modi, we see another controversial film on Demonetisation all set to release. The RaGa fame director Rupesh Paul is behind making this film and he has named it as The Great Indian Casino. The film is marred into controversy as it talks about the ill effects of the demonetization carried out in November 2016 by the current Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and his government.
This led the slowing down of economy resulting in the loss of jobs worth five million so far leading too many lives in it. It has some bad repercussions as well on the Indian economy, which was soon followed by GST making things bad to worse. The film’s story talks about how crooks made money with their Indian jugad to tackle this process called notebandi. It also is a tribute to many people who lost their lives with their personal losses in the name of money and jobs after demonetization.
The film has Rajesh Sharma, Pankaj Beri, Asif Basra, and Deepraj Rana playing the lead role of four Mumbai based gangsters along with Amisha Patel calling it to be a crime drama. The teaser of the film was released none other than the actor Dharmendra in New Delhi. Talking on the occasion, he called the film to be a blend of political and neo-noir genre. The film also has Govind Namdev, Sanjay Gandhi, Yateen Karyekar, Anant Jog, Heena Panchal, Scarlett Mellish Wilson, and Nisha Rasaily in the supporting roles.
