Anupam Kher on Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra not giving him roles anymore; says, “I was a dear one to all these peeps”
Bollywood’s senior actor, Anupam Kher, recently talked about the popular filmmakers not giving him roles in their movies anymore. The actor, who has done around 500 movies in his acting career, expressed his opinions on being absent from ordinary Hindi movies.
Anupam’s The Kashmir Files was a big hit at the box office, and his latest release, Karthikeya 2, is also doing very well. But, do you know that big filmmakers like Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Aditya Chopra stopped giving him roles in their movies long ago? This is the reason why the actor isn’t seen in any of their films now.
The actor, who has been cast in various successful movies like DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Veer Zaara, is produced by KJo and Aditya Chopra. Anupam remembered the old times and said, “I used to be their dear one at that time, but things have changed now for some unknown reasons.
Anupam Kher has this thoughts on not receiving offer from them
In an interview with Times Now Navbharat, Anupam Kher said, “I am not doing any mainstream movies in India now. Yes, I am not. Neither I am in Karan Johar’s project, nor in Sajid Nadiadwala or Aditya Chopra’s film. because I haven’t received offers from them. I was a dear friend to these people once and have seen everyone’s movies. However, I won’t blame them for not casting me in their projects now. I found my way because they didn’t come with any offers, and I worked in the Tamil film “Connect,” the Telugu film “Tiger Nageswara Rao,” and Sooraj Barjatya’s “Uunchai.”
He further added, “I could have just stayed sitting as it is and have said, ‘Arey yaar mere dost our kareebi log hote the, It’s too late for a movie. Ab mai kya karun, mai toh barbaad hogaya.Those who were once my friends and close ones are avoiding me and not giving me any offers. What should I do now? I am ruined. Yes, it hurts, but I am not holding grudges against them. I just want to say that when one door shuts for you, many other doors and windows open. “
The Kashmir Files actor will be next seen in the upcoming period drama ‘Emergency’ featuring Kangana Ranaut as the lead. In this movie, Kangana will be stepping into the shoes of late political leader Mrs Indira Gandhi. She is herself writing, directing, and producing the movie, along with the acting. Anupam Kher is essaying the character of Jaya Prakash Narayan. He also has Unnchai and Shiv Shastri Balboa in his kitty.
