Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan opens lower! Here’s its Box Office Day 1 collection count:
The latest Release Raksha Bandhan starring Akshay Kumar hit the theatres yesterday on the 11th of August. This family comedy-drama movie clashed with the most talked about film Laal Singh Chaddha starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Well according to the box office Raksha Bandhan’s collection is a bit disappointing. It seems like the movie might be an addition to the list of Akshay Kumar’s flop films. Akshay, who was once a king of the box office in the past few years is not leaving upto that legacy. His recent movies Samrat Prithiviraj and Bachchan Pandey were the major disasters of the year.
Raksha Bandhan Box Office Collection Day 1:
According to the Box Office India report, this Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer movie earned Rs 7.5 crore. This movie had clashed the theatres with Laal Singh Chaddha which is said to have earned around Rs 10-11 cr. Which means it has lost the race with Aamir’s movie. Akshay even lost the race with himself because his previous releases had atleast done slightly better on their opening days. Samrat Prithviraj earned Rs 10.7 crore and Bachchhan Paandey earned Rs 13.2 crore on Day 1. To note this year, actor Kartik Aaryan has set on the Box office throne. His Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 recorded the highest opening of the year with Rs 14.1 crore on Day 1.
Well, let’s see how this weekend turns out for Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar’s films. With a long weekend including a holiday for the Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan, followed by Saturday and Sunday and then Independence Day, the audience can visit the theatres and catch a show.
