Soon after making her digital debut with web series, Zoom Studio’s The Holiday, Adah Sharma will soon be seen in her never-before-seen avatar. Taking a break from the serious roles, the Mumbai-based actor, Adah, had made her Bollywood debut 11 years back in the horror film 1920. Soon she will be playing up for her upcoming film, Man to Man. The beautiful actor shared her excitement about playing the role of Mehak as an effervescent girl. Talking about the series and unwinding a lot with her co-stars Priyank Sharma, Aashim Gulati and Veer Rajwant Singh, she spoke a lot on a media platform while shooting in Mauritius.
Taking about her character, Mehak, as is evident from her multi-coloured hair, quirky nail paints, she said, “Yes. It’s for the first time that I am doing a fun role. People will get to see a very different side of me which was restricted to my Instagram account.”
The 1920 actor also called her character quite relatable saying, “It is the closest ‘me’ that I have played on-screen so far. Otherwise, I have played the role of a possessed woman in the horror film 1920, a very simple role in Hasee Toh Phasee, and even in Commando 2, I played a serious role. When the director asked us to be ourselves, all four of us fully embraced our roles.”
Answering on the fact about what took her so long to choose a script for her debut web series, she said, “I was waiting for the right opportunity to come. I did a short film Moh, and I was overwhelmed by the reactions. So, I knew the web content is extremely good and I didn’t want to do the same kind of roles. When I was approached to play Mehak, I instantly said yes because it’s a very different story. There are many films themed on friendship, like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Chahta Hai, and Veere Di Wedding, but those were centred around either boys or girls. This has a different flavour. One girl and her boy gang heading to Mauritius to celebrate her bachelorhood. It was much fun.”
Throwing light on what will be her next after The Holiday, she said, “I will be back with the third installation of Commando as Bhavana Reddy which will release in September. Also, I am doing a very interesting film Man to Man, where I will be playing the character of a man who undergoes sex reassignment surgery.”
