Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par Dominates the Box Office in the 1st Weekend
Aamir Khan’s latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par, has made a remarkable impact at the box office during its opening weekend. The social comedy raked in an impressive ₹59.90 crore nett over three days, showcasing a significant surge in collections, particularly on Sunday. These figures far exceeded initial expectations from the trade industry prior to the film’s release.
As a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par, the film opened with ₹10.7 crore on Friday. However, as positive word of mouth spread, the collection doubled to ₹20.2 crore on Saturday and tripled to ₹29 crore on Sunday.

Analysts believe the film will navigate the crucial Monday test successfully, maintaining double-digit earnings. At this trajectory, it is expected to surpass the lifetime collection of Laal Singh Chaddha (₹61.36 crore) by the end of its fourth day.
This marks a strong comeback for Aamir Khan at the box office and celebrates the kind of cinema he passionately supports. The superstar has long utilized film as a medium to spark important discussions among audiences, and with RS Prasanna at the helm, he combines humor with sensitivity in this narrative. Although there were efforts from the Boycott gang to bring down the film at the box office, however, the film seems to be doing well and is expected to enter the 100 crore club soon.
