Sajid Nadiadwala Steps Down as AMPTP/IFTPC President After 13 Years

Sajid Nadiadwala has officially stepped down as the president of the Indian Film & TV Producers Council (IFTPC), with Bollywood veteran Ratan Jain taking over the reins. Jain, who previously led the council from 2010 to 2012, was unanimously approved by members during the organisation’s 34th annual general meeting.
In his farewell address, Nadiadwala highlighted the importance of fresh leadership for the council’s future. He nominated Jain as his successor, a choice warmly received and endorsed by the members. He was honoured with a bouquet from NR Pachisia and a memento from Jamnadas Majethia, with members applauding his 13-year tenure, although specific achievements were not detailed by the council.
Ratan Jain brings extensive experience as head of the Venus Group, known for producing hit films such as Khiladi, Baazigar, Dhadkan, Humraaz, and Garam Masala. His return as president marks a significant comeback to lead the council through its next phase.
The newly elected board for 2025–26 includes Jamnadas Majethia as chairman (TV & web), alongside directors NR Pachisia, Madhu Mantena, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Rajat Rawail, Shyamashis Bhattacharya, Nitin Vaidya, and Abhimanyu Singh. Ramesh Taurani will serve as honorary adviser.
As the industry continues to navigate shifts brought by streaming platforms and changing audience preferences, the council looks to Ratan Jain’s leadership to provide strategic guidance in this evolving landscape. Meanwhile, the producer Sajid Nadiadwala has unveiled the title of his next film, O’ Romeo. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles, the movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026, just in time for the Valentine’s Day weekend.
