Filmmaker Samit Basu’s take on On House Arrest
As the web series House Arrest has hit the popular OTT platform called Netflix, Samit Basu seems to talk about the Ali Fazal starrer show at length. While describing the series, he said, his experience for making the show was both chaotic and exciting. The film also has Shriya Pilgaonkar, Jim Sarbh and Barkha Singh in the lead roles. While the show brings to life the very idea of JOMO (Joy Of Missing Out).
Well, the story of the series is all about a man trapped somewhere restricting his interaction with the world and thus he cannot just keep the world from entering his area. Talking about the same the co-director said that he had good and bad time both making the show. However, he called this opportunity to be his privilege to work with some successful actors and filmmakers like Shashanka.
Talking about his thoughts, he said there were two different points to start the things and he enjoyed moving on the story that seemed too chaotic in terms of content and stuff. He said the story is somewhere inspired by Japan where people in this country tend to live in this way. He also called that the idea that has its basis in the web series seems to come with a single point location. He said he couldn’t think of any instance things that came in the usual way as he found the scripts this time for the series to be more movement driven rather than theme-driven. The web series has hit the OTT on 15th Nov.
