Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, Set to Begin Filming on November 7

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is set to kick off production on his eagerly awaited romantic-action drama, tentatively titled Love & War. Featuring a star-studded cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, the film is slated for a theatrical release on March 20, 2026. After experiencing a brief delay due to adverse weather conditions in Mumbai, the production is now scheduled to commence on November 7.

According to a report from Pinkvilla, Ranbir Kapoor will be the first to step onto the sets, focusing on his solo scenes for several weeks. Following his lead, Vicky Kaushal will join the production, while Alia Bhatt is anticipated to start filming after she wraps up her current project, Alpha, in early December.Bhansali has carefully crafted the shooting schedule, dedicating over 200 days for both Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal to contribute to the film. In contrast, Ranbir Kapoor plans to finish his segments by July or August 2025, as he has other commitments lined up, including Ramayana: Part 2, Dhoom 4, and Animal Park.

Initially considering a romantic film to begin in November 2025, Alia Bhatt is now reassessing her projects following Love & War. Similarly, Vicky Kaushal is looking at potential film opportunities to start after November 2025.In a notable shift from his typical studio collaborations, Love & War is being self-financed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. While there is a possibility of a future partnership with a studio, the team is currently proceeding with the self-financing approach.
