Reveal Siddharth Anand No more in Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Pathaan 2: Reports

Reports have revealed that Siddharth Anand, known for his action-packed ventures such as War and Pathaan in the YRF spyverse, will not be directing the sequel Pathaan 2, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. Sources have indicated that Aditya Chopra, the filmmaker-producer and mastermind behind the YRF spyverse, intends to bring in new directors for each film in the franchise, aiming to offer fresh perspectives to the characters within this spy universe.

According to a report by Peeping Moon, sources have confirmed that Pathaan 2 is indeed in the works, with preparations for the action entertainer already underway. The source stated, “Aditya Chopra is strategically choosing the directors for each YRF spy universe film and has never repeated directors for its sequel movies, as is evident from the Tiger and War sequels. The tradition continues with Pathaan 2 as well, with Siddharth Anand stepping aside for a new director to offer a fresh perspective to Shah Rukh’s swashbuckling spy character. While the director for the sequel hasn’t been finalized, plans are underway to start production by the end of this year.”

It’s worth noting that Ek Tha Tiger in 2012 was directed by Kabir Khan, followed by Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017 helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Maneesh Sharma directed Tiger 3 in 2023, while Ayan Mukerji will direct War 2. Additionally, apart from the Tiger and War franchises, YRF is also producing a female-centric spy thriller starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, with direction by Shiv Rawail. There have also been reports about a film titled Tiger vs Pathaan, featuring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in their respective spy avatars, but it remains to be seen if Siddharth Anand will be involved in this highly-anticipated action extravaganza within the spyverse.
