Kaun Banega Crorepati: Contestant remove shirt in joy, Amitabh Bachchan says ‘kahi aur vastr na utar jaye’

Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati is one of the most popular shows on Indian Television.

A contestant recently celebrated his win in the fastest finger first round in a way never seen before on the show. Vijay Gupta, a contestant, removed his shirt, hoisted it in the air, and then threw it at the audience before going to hug his wife after making it to the hot seat.

As he stood in front of host Amitabh Bachchan, Vijay even motioned to the audience to keep clapping. Amitabh Bachchan just stood there and said, “Sahi hai sir, sahi hai (fine, it’s fine).” Sr Bachchan later requested him to wear his shirt and said, “Kameez jaldi se pahan lijiye, humko dar hai kahi aur vastr na utar jayein (Quickly wear your shirt please, I am afraid you may remove more clothes).”

The 79-year-old actor even followed him backstage in order to reclaim him. Vijay went backstage to get his microphone, and Amitabh followed him to find him and bring him back. However, Vijay did not fare well in the hot seat, earning only $10,000.

Other viewers couldn’t stop laughing as Sony shared the promotion on social media. A fan referred to him as “Bhaiyaji superhit.” “Pagla gaye they (He had gone insane),” said another. “Haha oh my god,” said another fan.

Meanwhile, Amitabh is on leave after testing positive for Covid-19 this week. Amitabh wrote in Hindi in his most recent tweet Thursday night, “When we used to work, we used to think when we will get leave; now I have got leave, I am wondering when will I get to work.”

Amitabh had also written on Twitter in Hindi two days after being diagnosed with the virus, “Were thinking of running very fast; a decree fell from above, and I was left standing where I was.”
