Yash’s Toxic Teaser Faces Complaint from AAP Women’s Wing to Karnataka State Women’s Commission

The teaser for the highly anticipated Kannada film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash, has sparked controversy after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Women’s Wing filed a formal complaint with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission. The complaint alleges that the teaser contains “obscene visuals” that could negatively affect women, children, and cultural values, igniting a broader debate on the limits of advertising content in Indian cinema.
Released on January 8, coinciding with Yash’s 40th birthday, the teaser quickly grabbed attention for its bold and stylized imagery, including a brief intimate scene featuring Yash and a woman inside a car. While some praised its daring aesthetic, others condemned the content as inappropriate for general audiences.According to NDTV, the AAP Women’s Wing argued that the visuals “adversely impact the social well-being of women and children” and threaten Kannada cultural values. The complaint urges the Karnataka State Women’s Commission to direct the state government to withdraw or ban the teaser and remove it from social media platforms. The AAP also called for stricter regulations on public circulation of such content to ensure cultural responsibility online.
AAP State Secretary Usha Mohan emphasized that the teaser was released without any age restrictions or content warnings, which the party believes compromises women’s dignity and exposes minors to unsuitable material. She demanded immediate intervention from the Commission and state authorities. Check the teaser which is drawing ire from the political party:
