There is no indication that the uproar over Danish Taimoor’s remarks endorsing polygamy will go away anytime soon. Actress Mahira Khan of Raees appears to have liked a post that made fun of Ayeza Khan’s husband Danish.
The internet is ablaze when an X (formerly Twitter) user uploaded a tweet. A screenshot of Mahira Khan reportedly liking a post that viciously harasses Danish Taimoor for his comment is displayed. Ayeza Khan is featured in the meme that Mahira found appealing, along with the words, “When you get dressed so well, your husband starts wanting three more like you.”
Danish had stated, “Mujhe ijazat hai chaar shaadiyon ki, main kar nahi raha hoon, voh alag baat hai,” during an episode of Mehfil-e-Ramadan. However, jo koi mujhse cheen nahi sakta jo ijazat mujhe Allah ne di hai. Ayeza ke liye ki main filhaal zindagi inhi ke saath guzarna chahta hoon, lekin voh mera pyaar hai, respect hai.” (I am legally permitted to get married four times; the fact that I am not doing so is another story. However, no one can take away the permission that Allah has granted me. However, I want to live my life with Ayeza alone for the time being out of respect and love for her.)

Following criticism, he later justified his remarks on the following episode of the show, saying, “Main aur Ayeza hum statements padh kar hass rahe the. Lekin main kar nahi raha kyunki filhaal mujhe pyaar hai apni biwi se, jaisa ki maine kaha tha ki mujhe 4 shaadiyon ki ijaazat hai. Ispar qayam hoon aur main aaj bhi. Filhaal zindagi inhi ke saath guzarna chahta hoon.”
