As the release of his fourth Hindi film, Sikandar, featuring Salman Khan, draws near, acclaimed filmmaker AR Murugadoss has generated buzz among fans by sharing updates about the much-anticipated sequel to his 2008 blockbuster, Ghajini. The director addressed the rising interest surrounding Ghajini 2, a project that has gained momentum since producer Allu Aravind expressed his eagerness to continue the franchise.

The original Ghajini, a Tamil film starring Suriya released in 2005, was remade in Hindi in 2008 with Aamir Khan in the lead role. This film marked a significant milestone as it was the first Bollywood production to surpass the Rs 100 crores mark at the box office. Recent reports suggest that Ghajini 2 may be a bilingual project, filmed simultaneously in Tamil and Hindi, with Suriya and Aamir Khan reprising their iconic roles.
As per Bollywood Hungama, the director said, “We have some ideas. Right now, we are all busy with our respective projects. Once we find the time, we will sit down and discuss.

The interview also highlighted Murugadoss’ recent interactions with Aamir Khan amid the Ghajini 2 speculation. Sharing details of their latest meeting, he said, “When I first came to Mumbai, I met him before starting the shoot of Sikandar. We discussed something on the sets of Taare Zameen Par and have often stayed in touch over the phone since then.”This revelation has sparked hope among fans, suggesting that the two are in contact, potentially laying the groundwork for the sequel. However, Murugadoss chose not to disclose specifics about their conversation. For now, his comments provide a glimmer of optimism that the beloved Ghajini franchise may soon make a triumphant return to the big screen, reuniting Aamir Khan and Suriya under his direction.
