Rashtra Kavach Om Review: Aditya Roy Kapur starrer is a mindless, soulless action film!

Rashtra Kavach Om Review :

Film: Rashtra Kavach OM
Cast: Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjana Sanghi, Jackie Shroff, Ashutosh Rana, Prakash Raj and Prachee Shah Paandya
Director: Ahmed Khan
Stars: ⭐

Story:
Om (Aditya Roy Kapur) is a super commando who is on a crucial mission to restore control of the Rashtra Kavach, or the country’s safety guard, and preserve the country. When he is shot and survives only to discover that he has lost his memories, he is just a few steps away from finishing his objective. While other members of the elite government agency, Murthy (Prakash Raj) and Jai Rathod (Ashutosh Rana), are busy working out how to get Om back into the mission, Kavya Sharma (Sanjana Sanghi) is caring for him. However, it’s not as easy as it first appears to be. Om has a lot more to learn while protecting his country, such as where his father Dev Rathod (Jackie Shroff) is.

Review:
The plot of the narrative by Raj Saluja and Niket Pandey is disjointed. Every 15 minutes, a new subplot is introduced, and most of them don’t seem vital to the overall story. Some situations genuinely put your patience to the test because of how absurdly far they can go. The leading lady quickly gets up and stands straight as if the bullet never struck her as the man lies there motionless. You yank your hair out while wondering, What was that? Then there’s the story of a hero who is shot in the head, plunges into the ocean, but manages to pull through and quickly regains his physical abilities. What kind of superpowers are these, exactly?

Apart from Kapur’s physical change into this manly persona, Rashtra Kavach doesn’t really have any performances that make you stand up and take attention. He can make some action scenes look good, but only when they are authentic and not enhanced by artificial effects. In reality, he does admirably in the acting arena as well.

Sanghi is given the opportunity to deliver a few blows, but her character doesn’t have any more to do in terms of feelings or on-screen presence. There could have benefited from a little more depth. Ashutosh Rana does his role without going overboard and with complete devotion and restraint. Prakash Raj has been doing the same thing it seems. He now needs a serious image makeover. Prachee Shah Pandya, who plays Om’s mother, also has some good scenes.

Verdict:
If you must, watch it solely for Aditya Roy Kapoor.
