Plot
A billionaire concocts a wild scheme to turn his black money into legitimate losses by intentionally producing a flop film. He recruits a bizarre crew of struggling stars, forgotten heroes, and eccentric characters. Enter Yeda Anna (Suniel Shetty)—brother to the original Welcome universe’s Anna—and Romeo (Arshad Warsi), Majnu’s equally chaotic brother.
Just as cameras roll, an Income Tax raid wipes out the funding. The solution? Move the entire shoot to a remote village using real locals, all while the clueless actors remain convinced, they are just performing a script.
Star Performances
Akshay delivers his sharpest performance in years. His impeccable timing, effortless expressions, and body language anchor the massive cast without overshadowing them. Shetty’s Yeda Anna is a wonderfully eccentric, laugh-out-loud surprise, while Warsi slips into the franchise’s signature madness with absolute ease. Lara adds a fantastic layer of humor as the stern Army trainer tasked with whipping the clueless actors into shape. While veterans like Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, and Rajpal Yadav bring their usual A-game, the film’s absolute highlights are Farida Jalal and Kiran Kumar.
Direction, Music and other elements
Managing an ensemble cast of such a magnitude is a logistical nightmare, but Ahmed Khan ensures almost every actor gets their moment in the sun. The screenplay keeps the energy high by constantly shifting gears between – Situational comedy and witty one-liners, Visual gags and classic misunderstandings and Large-scale action set pieces and an adventurous new canvas
Visually, the film is a vibrant, colorful spectacle. The production design perfectly matches the exaggerated world, the songs feel earned, and the background score hits all the right comedic and action beats.
Last word
This film belongs in a packed theatre. The collective joy of community viewing—the shared whistles, applause, and explosive laughter—is something no OTT platform can replicate. It’s loud, it’s crazy, and sometimes, that is more than enough. A crowd-pleasing, nostalgic riot!
