Considering the rush this Friday, the filmmakers of Welcome to Karachi were smart enough to release their movie today. Thursday being an unconventional day to release any movie especially when it’s no holiday, the filmmakers have tried to play bet, which they have tried to play smart. This will help to generate the buzz for their film garnering good word of mouth publicity for the same. However, the film was able to get a slow or rather a dull opening.
Despite the ace performance from Arshad Warsi, the movie was not able to draw audience on its first day. Thanks to the huge word of mouth buzz for the film Tanu Weds Manu Returns, the magic of Welcome to Karachi seems to be failing. As per reports, the movie had a dull occupancy since morning, which seemed increasing to certain percentage yet that amounts to be much lower against the expectations of the filmmaker.
The occupancy rate in the morning was around 20 percent, which remained the same with an increase of 1 to 2 percentage. Hence, as per reports, the first day box office collection for Welcome to Karachi tolled to around 2 crores. In fact, the trade pundits were expecting similar figures on its first day. Even Piku seems to be competing with it, which means the collection is further hampered by this film as well. However, the experts are expecting some surge in the coming weekend, let’s see how much surge once can notice in the coming three days.
