Web Series Kaafir Set in Kashmir Valley but Shot Elsewhere

The ZEE5 upcoming web series Kaafir with Dia Mirza and Mohit Raina in the leading roles is back in the news as it talks about the conflicts in Kashmir valley. It deals with the political conflict that has surrounded the valley since past so many decades. The filmmakers have been often lured by the beauty of this place apart from being the tussle that has been following since so many years capturing in their cameras with different tales for the audience. Now, with the popularity of OTT platforms, the leading digital app ZEE5 has come out with the series called Kaafir based on it.

Sonam Nair is the director of the series and the screenplay is created by Bhavani Iyer who has given the script for the popular B Town film Raazi. The story is about a young innocent Pakistani girl called Kainaaz Akhtar played by Mirza, who is seen behind bars once the BSF mistakenly takes her in as the militant. The series will be breaking the chain of movies and series that talks about the pseudo nationalist perspective on Kashmir.

Mohit Raina is seen playing the character called Vedant Rathod who has given a gripping performance about the balanced perception as seen in an intolerant world. On the other side, we see Dishita Jain playing the daughter of Kainaaz called Seher. Interestingly, one of the key drawbacks of the series is that it is a story of a valley but was not shot in Kashmir. The makers have made the same in Himachal Pradesh. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
