Finally after roller coaster ride for the makers of PM Narendra Modi Biopic as they finally are able to embark with a release date. The film is finally releasing on 11th April 2019, which is not Friday but Thursday. The film directed by Omung Kumar was supposed to hit the film yesterday on 5th April 2019 but the film was into a controversy for the timing of its release. The opposition party was quick to report to the Election Commission and pointed out that the ruling party is exploiting the film for its own interest.
The Courts intervened and have left the EC and the Censor Board to decide upon the same. So, finally, they have given the release date, which is on 11th April. The makers were quick to announce the date on Twitter when they got the clean chit from the said groups. The film showcases the struggle and path he has chosen to embark upon the Indian politics. Omung Kumar who happens to be a popular filmmaker known for his expertise in making biopics.
The people in the opposite camp has filed a PIL asking the ban of the film. The parties are claiming that the ruling party is making it to be a propaganda film and the timing of its release will help them thus violating the code of conduct of the election commission. The other wrong reason that made the film to make the headline was to include the name of Javed Akhtar in the credit list on the poster, and the lyricist objected it. So, with these reasons, the film has been mired into controversy.
