Vikram Gokhale passes away at 82

Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale is on his way to heaven after being on a ventilator for the last few days. However, till now his family has not shared the cause of his demise, the actor breathed his last at Pune’s Dinanath Hospital on 26 November. This sudden death of the actor deeply shocked the industry and his fans.

Vikram Ji was admitted to the hospital in November as he was suffering from multi-organ failure. It was reported in the morning that the 77-year-old actor’s health was deteriorating slightly and he was back on the ventilator. If recent media reports are to be believed, his last rites will be performed at Vaikunth crematorium in Pune this evening.

Vikram Gokhale ji has left behind a huge legacy that will be remembered for generations to come. He was famous for his acting in Marathi and Hindi television shows. Since his debut with Amitabh Bachchan starrer Parwana in 1971, he went on to perform in many incredible movies. He appeared in films such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Agneepath, and Khuda Gawah.

He was honored with the National Award for Best Actor in 2010 for his performance in the Marathi film Anumati. Vikram Gokhale was last seen in the Shilpa Shetty and Abhimanyu Dassani starrer comedy Nikamma, which was released in June this year.

For the unversed, he is the son of Marathi theater and film actor Chandrakant Gokhale. Vikram Gokhale was also a social worker, who provided financial support to disabled soldiers, and children of leprosy patients and took care of the education of orphans.
