Vikram Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt Unveil Four Films at Grand Event: Historical ‘Rann,’ Wildlife Thriller ‘Viraat,’ and Romantic Dramas ‘Tu Meri Puri Kahaani’ and ‘Tumko Meri Kasam’
On August 12, Vikram Bhatt hosted an event to announce his collaboration with Indira Entertainment, led by Dr. Ajay Murdia. Joining him were Dr. Murdia and Mahesh Bhatt, who will serve as a mentor and contribute to the writing of several films produced by Indira. The event was further graced by actors Anupam Kher, Esha Deol, Adah Sharma, and Ishwak Singh.
The first film introduced by Vikram Bhatt is the historical drama Rann, set in 1669 and based on Maharana Raj Singh of Mewar, who stood against Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb’s imposition of the jizya tax. Vikram Bhatt will direct Rann himself.
The second film announced was Viraat, which features a tiger in a design that includes a British flag beneath the title “Rebel Against the Raj.” Vikram explained that this film is set in 1911 and depicts the British authorities’ attempts to demolish a temple dedicated to Maa Sherawali to construct a railway line. The tiger, however, valiantly opposes this destructive plan.
The third project is Tu Meri Puri Kahaani, which stands out as the only film among the four not directed by Vikram Bhatt. The story is penned by Mahesh Bhatt, with music composed by Anu Malik.
Finally, Tumko Meri Kasam, also directed by Vikram Bhatt, features Anupam Kher, Esha Deol, Adah Sharma, and Ishwak Singh. This film is inspired by the life of Dr. Ajay Murdia. All the actors, along with Vikram Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt, and Dr. Murdia, gathered on stage to launch the film and engage with the media.
A particularly touching moment of the event occurred when Anupam Kher presented ‘guru dakshina’ to Mahesh Bhatt, who was instrumental in giving Kher his acting debut in Saaransh (1984).
