Inshallah Reimagined: SRK’s Potential Entry as Salman’s Replacement, and Deepika Padukone Eyed for Alia Bhatt’s Role in Bhansali’s Blockbuster Mix

Inshallah, this particular project has been highly anticipated not only by Sanjay Leela Bhansali fans but also by fans of Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, and now even Shah Rukh Khan. The rumors about this film first surfaced in 2018 when the title was registered by the director, piquing everyone’s curiosity.

Salman confirmed his involvement in the film, mentioning that he had heard a one-liner story for it. However, since then, Sanjay hasn’t been returning his calls, leading Salman to jokingly ask the media to intervene. In the same year, it was reported that Deepika Padukone would also be part of the film, based on a 2016 report suggesting that Salman and Deepika were set to star in an SLB film.

There were even rumors about Anushka Sharma being part of Inshallah, but eventually, Alia Bhatt was finalized to star opposite Salman Khan. Everything seemed to be on track. However, a year later, in 2019, news emerged that Salman abruptly left the film sets due to disagreements with Sanjay Leela Bhansali regarding the film’s vision.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Salman expressed his thoughts on the film being shelved and maintained that his friendship with Sanjay remains intact. He wished the director all the best and assured fans that they would collaborate on a future project.

While the film’s interior designer revealed that 22 sets were designed, with two already completed and Alia shooting her portions, Salman’s disagreement with Bhansali’s vision caused a shift in the film’s direction. Salman wanted it to be a commercial potboiler for an Eid release, rather than a love story as envisioned by Bhansali.

But the story doesn’t end there. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, being deeply committed to the project, reportedly approached Shah Rukh Khan as a replacement for Salman. According to reports, SLB has met SRK multiple times, fueling speculation about their collaboration on this film.
