Vidya Balan’s web series on Indira Gandhi to be directed by Ritesh Batra

Ritesh Batra, the popular director known for his best works in films like Lunch Box and Photograph will be soon directing Vidya Balan’s debut web-series on Indira Gandhi. The series is known to be based on Sagarika Ghose’s bestseller book Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister.

Ritesh Batra is quite a famed director in Bollywood and with him joining the project, the web series can be a totally recall of what actually happened.

Vidya Balan has been known to buy the rights of Sagarika Ghose’s book Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister based on which, the actress is releasing a series, very soon.

As per a sources revelation, it was learned that, “Ritesh is directing the series.”

Vidya Balan, who has recently bashed the silver screen  with her recent release Mission Mangal, had even delivered a statement on the same to a media platform during her earlier interview, mentioning the insights of this web series project, “I am doing a web series and it is my debut, Ronnie Screwvala is producing it. It is taking a long time to put it together as there is so much material. The web series requires a lot of work. So it is taking time but let’s see. I hope it doesn’t take longer.”

Batra’s Photograph was released earlier this year. The film starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra and received a lot of acclaim both in India and across the global boundaries. In fact, the film scored 80 per cent on the review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.

Vidya Balan will be making her digital world entry through this debut web series.
