Excitement is building around Dhurandhar 2 as reports suggest that Vicky Kaushal is set to reprise his role as Major Vihaan Shergill in the upcoming action-packed sequel. The film, slated for release on March 19, 2026, will arrive in multiple Indian languages, continuing the momentum from the blockbuster original starring Ranveer Singh, which released in December 2025.Following the massive success of the first Dhurandhar, the sequel is positioned as a grand Pan-India cinematic event.
While the original film established a strong narrative foundation, Kaushal’s return brings a familiar character from another celebrated franchise into the mix.According to a Mid-Day report, Kaushal’s role will be an extended cameo rather than a lead part. Major Vihaan Shergill, first introduced in Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), has been cleverly integrated into the Dhurandhar universe despite the films’ distinct timelines.
A source revealed, “Director Aditya Dhar has been secretive about the star power he’s adding to Dhurandhar 2. He has smartly woven a storyline from Uri into the sequel, including some intense action sequences.”While details about how Shergill’s character intersects with Ranveer Singh’s role remain under wraps, insiders confirm that these scenes were shot last year to set up potential future spin-offs or expansions within Aditya Dhar’s cinematic universe.
The star-studded cast of Dhurandhar 2 also includes Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. Producers plan a simultaneous release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, aiming to capture a wide audience base.
