Veteran actor Manoj Kumar who is known for his patriotic roles in the B Town has finally seen getting paid off for his efforts. He has been bestowed with the country’s prestigious award called Dada Saheb Phalke Award. It is among the highest official recognition in Indian cinema wherein you can find the 78 year old actor becoming the 47th recipient of the award that comprises of golden lotus and a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh and a shawl an official announcement.
The name of Manoj Kumar was recommended unanimously by a five member jury comprising Salim Khan, Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkkar, Anup Jalota and Nitin Mukesh. He is best known for his films like Hariyali Aur Raasta, Himalaya Ki Godh Mein, Who Kaun Thi, Upkar, Do Badan, Purab Aur Pachim and Shaheed to name a few. The veteran actor has also won a National Film Award for his film Upkaar and was honored with the award of Padma Shri by the government of India in the y ear 1992.
