Starting with the highest grosser of the week i.e. Vedalam, under the guidance n directions of a renowned director ‘Siva’ the movie already got some tremendous hike from its pre-release promos and tracks, but later on it was all about the stars and the gestures that turned audience and of course their beloved fans to make the movie a grand success. Being release amongst couple of theatres it had 348 shows in the six-day first weekend in Chennai plus the stunning response sparked the collection with 3.23Crores within a week. Whereas if we talk about the stars then it features some glamorous stars like Ajith Kumar, Shruti Haasan, Lakshmi Menon, Soori and last but not the least Vidyullekha Raman as leading stars.
Coming to the one which tried its level best but still was able to crawl till first runner up in the box office within a week, yes we are depicting about Rajesh M. Selva’s touching flick Thoongavanam. Featuring some olden gold stars like Kamal Haasan, Prakash Raj along with some decent ones i.e. Trisha, Kishore and Asha Sarath, the movie had a blast initially but still lacked behind some aspects.
