Varun Dhawan to star in the remake of THIS Tamil film?
For the last two to three decades, Bollywood has been adapting popular and profitable south Indian films. Even Ajay Devgn’s previous week’s release “Bholaa” and Aditya Roy Kapur’s this week’s release “Gumraah” are remakes of Tamil flicks Kaithi (2019) and Thadam (2017).
Despite the poor reception from the public, Bollywood producers continue to produce fresh remakes. According to recent rumours, Varun Dhawan will star in the Hindi version of the Tamil film “Maanaadu.” (2021). Another great surprise is that the film will also star famed Telugu actor Ravi Teja. Although there has been no official confirmation, it is reported that Maanaadu will be simultaneously remade in Hindi and Telugu and Ravi Teja would play the role of Police Inspector, which was played by S J Surya in the original Tamil film.
The makers of the Hindi and Telugu versions are currently altering the script to accommodate to the tastes of the respective industries’ consumers. Furthermore, the film is likely to be shot on a considerably larger scale than the original, and certain changes to the screenplay may be made to accommodate the larger canvas.
