Varun Dhawan has been known as a successful actor in the young actors’ category of Bollywood. After giving a couple of superhits and the 100 crore club films, he is now doing the third edition of the ABCD franchise called ABCD 3. Shraddha Kapoor will be playing his love interest in the film like the previous sequel of the famous dance franchise. Also, as per the recent reports, the actor will be seen with Govinda’s film Coolie No.1’s remake. Yes, you heard it right, Varun’s father David Dhawan has confirmed the news he would be making a remake of the said film soon. Varun Dhawan would be playing the role of Govinda in it, while Sara Ali Khan would be playing the role of Karishma Kapoor in it.
As per reports, after the success of the remake of Judwa 2 with his son, filmmaker David Dhawan now intends to make a remake of Coolie No. 1 with his son. He was looking out for an actress to play opposite his son and had few names in his mind. However, with the good reviews of Sara Ali Khan in her films like Kedarnath and Simmba, the director has decided Sara Ali Khan as the female lead of the remake venture. Also, we have heard Sara Ali Khan expressing her desire to work with Varun Dhawan in any film. She said this in an interview at the popular talk show by Karan Johar called Koffee With Karan during the promotion of her film Kedarnath in the presence of her father Saif Ali Khan.
We remember Coolie No. 1 was among the successful films in B Town when it was released in the early nineties having Govinda and Karishma Kapoor in the lead roles. The film was directed by David Dhawan only. So, considering the big hit of Judwaa 2, he now finds Coolie No.1 as another potential film that he can easily do with his son and get another hit at the box office. Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan is on success ride with her recent release film Simmba crossing 200 Crores at the box office. She has a few offers, but she is yet to announce her next film.
