Varun Dhawan–Samantha’s Citadel: Honey Bunny and Matilda De Angelis’ Citadel: Diana Won’t Return for Season 2

Amazon has officially canceled the spin-offs Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana after their inaugural seasons. Meanwhile, the main Citadel series, featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, is slated for a 2026 release and now has an official synopsis. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, announced that the narratives from the Indian and Italian spin-offs would not be developed further as standalone series. “Although these popular and well-received international chapters won’t move forward, Season 2 of Citadel will be our most thrilling installment yet,” stated Sanders.
He revealed that the upcoming season will delve deeper into the emotional arcs of characters Nadia (Chopra Jonas), Mason (Madden), and Orlick (Stanley Tucci). Sanders promised high-stakes storytelling and a bold cinematic experience, along with the introduction of exciting new cast members. “We can’t wait to reveal what’s coming next when Citadel Season 2 premieres worldwide in the second quarter of 2026,” he added. The cancellation of the international spin-offs was not entirely surprising, especially following the unexpected departure of Jennifer Salke, the former head of Amazon MGM, who had championed the global spy thriller as her most ambitious project with the company.
Set against the backdrop of a secretive spy agency known as Citadel, the series follows the agents who have their memories erased after the agency’s downfall. The official synopsis poses a gripping question: “Now, as the powerful syndicate Manticore rises in the void, can the Citadel agents recollect their past and summon the strength to fight back? ”The second season is currently in post-production, with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Richard Madden, and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles. The cast also includes Leo Woodall, Ashleigh Cummings, Paul Bazely, Roland Møller, and Moira Kelly. Season one of Citadel, along with its international spin-offs, is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
