VALENTINE’S DAY SPECIAL: 10 Bollywood movies you can watch with your partner
Love and romance is that one sentiment and melody that Indian filmmakers have woven their scripts and plots around since the beginning of cinema in the country. From Jab We Met to Dil Wale Dulhania Le Jayenge, there are many movies out there in Bollywood that you can watch with your partner on a special day i.e. Valentine’s Day.
Today,, we will tell you about the films made on Bollywood’s top 10 love story movies list. In this list, we have taken only those films, which we have seen ourselves, and these movies also brought a lot of love from the public.
1) Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Bollywood’s fame movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, released in October 1998, is one of the most romantic movies of Shah Rukh Khan. Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Shah Rukh Khan are in lead roles in this film. In the story of this film, both Rahul (SRK) and Anjali (Kajol) study together in college, and both are very good friends. Anjali has always been like a boy, and she looks like a boy too. When Tina, the daughter of the college principal, moves to a new college, Rahul tries to impress Tina, and falls in love with her. When Anjali comes to know about this, she becomes very sad, and she understands that she also loves Rahul. But Rahul falls in love with Tina, and for this reason, Anjali leaves Rahul and her college. And further, we get to see a lot of romance. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai movie is one of my all-time favorite movies, I have seen this movie about 5-6 times. If you have seen a movie then watch it back with your partner, I am pretty sure that your love will increase further.
2) Jab We Met
Released in 2007, “Jab We Met” is a comedy-drama and lovely love story film starring Geet (Kareena Kapoor) and Aditya (Shahid Kapoor). In the story of the film, Aditya, a businessman, is very depressed in his life, then he meets a girl (Geet) on the train, who is very chatty, upset by her words, Aditya gets down from the train. When the girl gets down to take Aditya back to the train, they both miss the train. And after that, Geet and Aditya’s drama and Nok Jhok wali lovely love story begin.
3) Sanam Teri Kasam
The film “Sanam Teri Kasam” released on 5 February 2016 is about the love story of Inder and Saraswati (Saru). Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hussain are in the lead roles in this film. The story of this film revolves around Saraswati (Mawra) who is a simple girl, and for this reason, no boy is ready to marry Saraswati. But when Saraswati meets Inder (Harshvardhan Rane), Inder makes her into a beautiful role model, after which begin their lovely love story with lots of drama and romance. And I am sure that you will definitely cry at the end of the movie.
4) Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Ranveer Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai played the lead roles in the 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The story of the film revolves around Ayaan (Ranveer Kapoor) a witty boy who meets an unknown girl Alijeh (Anushka Sharma) in London, after a brief conversation, they become friends. Alizeh also learns that Ayaan is a mischievous and childish boy. In the story of the film, Alizeh is engaged. But Alizeh’s fiancee falls in love with Ayaan’s girlfriend Liza. When Ayaan learns of this, his heartbreaks and Ayaan falls in love with Alizeh. In the next story, Ayan meets Saba (Aishwarya Rai) who explains to Ayan the meaning of real love. Therefore the story of this film revolves around all these characters.
5) Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
The film “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” released in 2013 is Ranveer Kapoor and Deepika starrer film. Made in the story of this film (Ranveer) is a cool guy who wants to travel the whole world. Bunny does not believe in the bonds of marriage. Avi (Aditya Roy Kapur), Aditi (Kalki) and Naina (Deepika) are good friends in the film. Once Naina and Bunny go to Manali with their friends, where Bunny and Naina fall in love. On the other hand, Bunny gets a chance to travel the world, so he leaves Naina and goes to Chicago. And eight years later, when he comes to his friend’s wedding, he meets Naina again. But now Naina wants to forget Bunny and tries to focus on her career. Do you know that audience like to watch the movie with the same interest even after 8 years!
6) Barfi
Released in 2014, the film Barfi is a Ranveer Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ilyana starrer film. The story of the film revolves around a dumb and deaf boy who has full faith and belief in God, named Murphy (Ranveer Kapoor), fondly called Barfi. In the next story, Barfi (Ranveer Kapoor) meets Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra) who is suffering from Osteem. Jhilmil was always kept hidden from the world by his parents. Jhilmil and Barfi get a chance to live together when Jhilmil’s parents visit his grandparents to ask for their share of their property. And here begins their love story with their beloved.
7) Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
A movie that had become an instant favorite among college-goers and youngsters at the time of its release. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is just like one of those classic sitcoms which tells a simple story of a group of friends and a couple (Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza) who are in a constant state of denial of their relationship. It is a movie that neither dares to be different nor does it have ‘masala’ or melodrama, and yet there is some warmth in this uncomplicated tale that viewers like.
8) Kabir Singh
Despite being criticized heavily by feminists for portraying and toxic masculinity, Kabir Singh emerged as one of the biggest hits of 2019. The movie follows the story of an obsessive lover, Kabir (Shahid Kapoor), his relationship with his college junior, Preeti (Kiara Advani) and his way to self-destruction after falling in love. With powerful performances and a piece of good music, Kabir Singh is a welcome change from stereotypical love stories of Bollywood. After watching Kabir Singh, I fell in love with Shahid Kapoor.
9) Raanjhanaa
The film Raanjhanaa, released in 2013, is a film by actor Dhanush and actress Sonam Kapoor. The story of this film revolves around Kundan (Dhanush) who is from a Hindu family, and from childhood in love with a Muslim girl Zoya (Sonam Kapoor), but Zoya does not love Kundan at all, But Kundan loved her very much. This film was made at a cost of 35 crores, but the film made a total of 120 crores.
10) Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein
Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein or RHTDM as we popularly call it is a movie that would make any 90s kid thoughtful. The movie is about the love story of Madhav or Maddy (R Madhavan) and Reena Malhotra (Dia Mirza) whose marriage has already been fixed by her parents. Her fiance Rajeev (Saif Ali Khan) is someone who had a rivalry with Maddy from their university days.
