Uttarakhand Ex-CM’s Daughter Aarushi Nishank Files FIR Against Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan Producers for ₹4 Crore Fraud
An FIR has been filed at the Kotwali police station in Dehradun against producers Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla of the Vikrant Massey-Shanaya Kapoor starrer Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The complaint was lodged by Aarushi Nishank, daughter of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, alleging that she was cheated out of Rs. 4 crores after being promised a role in the film.
According to the complaint, Aarushi met Mansi and Varun Bagla, who persuaded her to invest Rs. 5 crores in the project. In exchange, they assured her a prominent role, a 20% profit share, and estimated returns of Rs. 15 crores. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on October 9, 2024, between Aarushi’s company, Himshree Films, and the Baglas’ Mini Films. Aarushi subsequently made payments, including Rs. 2 crores on October 10, Rs. 25 lakhs on October 27, Rs. 75 lakhs on October 30, and Rs. 1 crore on November 1.The complaint further states that Aarushi was promised creative input into her role, with a clause for a refund with 15% annual interest if she was dissatisfied. However, on February 5, 2025, she learned that the film’s shooting had been completed and another actor had been cast in her role. Aarushi also alleged that the producers misused a manipulated photograph from a December 2024 event she attended in Dehradun, excluding her from the image shared on their official page. Also, Aarushi claimed she was threatened with defamation and extortion, and derogatory remarks were made about her Garhwali background.
Mansi and Varun Bagla have been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation.
