Urvashi Dholakia says I barely had any struggle when I joined

Urvashi
Urvashi Dholakia recently opens about her starting days and struggles during that time. Urvashi Dholakia says – “My journey has been great. Thankfully, I am still surviving. It has been a beautiful journey for me and has been a great learning experience. What more can I say? It has been three decades, I will probably have to write a 100-page essay on it.”

Talking about her struggle and more, Urvashi Dholakia says – “To be honest, when I joined the TV industry, I was six years old. I barely had any struggle. Times were different at that point in time. I don’t know how to put that in form of an answer for you, to be honest.”

She says – “At that time, there was barely any struggle. It (acting) is something that I always loved so I never saw it as a struggle. Ups and downs come and go. But I was passionate about it since the time I was a kid that I really didn’t want to think of it as negative. I used to have my mom on the sets when I was a kid. So there was no particular struggle.”

She further adds – “I came into the spotlight very late. That time, there was only print. People used to know me as a child who used to go on the field. Most of the teachers never liked me in school. Because at that point in time, acting was kind of taboo. It wasn’t even considered. About 34 years back, it was not accepted and was ignored. The whole mindset and perception of people towards acting at that time was different.”

Talking about if success of Dekh Bhai Dekh took a toll on her, Urvashi Dholakia says – “Not really. How would it take a toll on me? I was being appreciated, loved by people, they were recognizing me as Shilpa. And I was a teenager myself. I was a 13-year-old when I did that show.”
