This Friday only one film- Chalk N Duster is released amidst negligible buzz in the media. The film is based on the subject of commercialization of education, which has made a couple of state governments to make the film tax free including Bihar, UP, Rajasthan and Delhi. The film has Juhi Chawla and Shabana Azmi in the lead role along with having a couple of other stars in the film. Though the film has managed to get a good word of mouth publicity, which can be heard at the social media sites, however, it failed to translate the same into good collection for obvious reasons.
After all, the film is a noncommercial one having no extra masala in it, which can attract the audience far and wide. Therefore you can call this film to be a niche based film, which can only attract certain section of the society that doesn’t really make much buzz in the media. Hence as per the buzz, the first day box office collection for Chalk N Duster isn’t found to be very much impressive for the obvious reasons, which tolled to around 1.5 crores. The trade pundits are hopeful to find a decent surge in the movie collection.
