Udta Punjab has finally completed its first week of its release after facing much of the hassles by the Censor Board. The controversy has helped the film to perform in a decent fashion over the box office. The figure the film has reached in the last seven days has made the movie to enter in the safe zone and now what the movie is going to earn would be simply a bonus for it.
As per reports, the first week box office collection for Udta Punjab tolled to around 48.50 crores, which means it has surpassed the films like Kapoor & Sons and Neerja in its first week. However, these two movies were seen moving ahead safe and reaching to the 70 crore mark. So, if you find Udta Punjab failing in its collection in the coming weekday’s collection, it may not touch the figure these films have managed to get.
Apart from being getting the bonus element of the movie, the film has managed to enter the semi-hit status making it a commercial success at the box office, which is a good news for Shahid Kapoor especially after the debacle of Shaandaar.
As the film Udta Punjab was an offbeat affair, it managed to surpass the expectations of the makers. In fact, it will prove a good launch pad for the actors working in the film, be it Shahid Kapoor who comes with Rangoon or some other actress like Alia Bhatt who is all set to do a SRK film this year. And yes for Kareena Kapoor it’s her venture called Veerey Di Wedding with Sonam Kapoor and lastly for the actor Diljit Dosanjh will have a movie called Sardaarji 2.
