Talking about the performance of Udta Punjab at Box Office, the one word answer is, it has done well. Despite the long tussle between the makers and censor board, nothing really has hampered the film hard and yes before we forget, even the A Certificate given to the film doesn’t really come on its way. Well, what really has gone in the favor of Udta Punjab is the kind of word of mouth buzz, which is seen amongst the target audience. In fact, with such an overwhelming response for the film, Udta Punjab has managed to do better emerging out to be the second biggest grocer of 2016. Not only that the film has gone ahead given Shahid Kapoor his best movie in terms of collection in the list of films he has done so far.
As pre reports, the first weekend box office collection for Udta Punjab tolled to around 34 crores, which is indeed better than the previous Shahid Kapoor movies (R Rajkumar 30.7 and Shandaar with 27.4 crores). Though the other release that came in the form of Dhanak by Nagesh Kukunoor was seen with positive ratings, yet it went unnoticed at the screens. On the other side, the multi-starrer films like Housefull 3 brought only 2.25 crores, which mean the film stands meager as compared to the Udta Punjab. The experts are expecting a good surge in the coming days as well.
