Shreyas Talpade announces Poshter Boyz 2; reveals ‘they will begin shoot in London by July’- ‘Exclusive’
In 2014, Shreyas Talpade produced the Marathi social comedy film Poshter Boyz. The film, directed by Sameer Patil and starring Dilip Prabhawalkar, Aniket Vishwasrao, Hrishikesh Joshi, and Pooja Swant, was a tremendous success. After nine years, Shreyas Talpade returns with the film’s sequel. The sequel was introduced by the actor-producer by releasing a 25-foot poster of the film in Mumbai Plaza theatre.
“Yes, after nine years, we are finally returning with a sequel,” Shreyas stated in an exclusive conversation with CineTalkers.com. When questioned why it took them so long to release a sequel that was announced in 2015, Shreyas said, “Yes, I know we took a bit longer than expected.” But we didn’t want to develop a sequel solely to cash in on the success of the original picture and make any compromises on the quality. We wanted a story that would offer each character equal time in the sequel as well. We eventually discovered the right story, but it took a little longer than we expected to finish the script. But now we’re here to make an official announcement”.

The film’s poster depicts all three main protagonists dressed as members of the UK royal guard. When asked about the poster’s inspiration and whether it will be shot in the UK, he said, “Yes, as the poster shows, the film’s story will take place in London. “You’ll have to wait until the film comes out to find out how these three end up in London. It’s too soon to reveal anything further about the film’s plot”.
Shreyas also mentioned about the ‘Poshter Boyz 2’ shoot and release, “we are planning to begin the shoot by July. The majority of the shooting will take place just in London.”
“And in terms of the release, we hope to have it out by the end of the year,” Shreyas concluded.
Meanwhile, Poshter Boyz 2 will also see Pooja Sawant and Neha Joshi reprising their roles from the first film. The sequel will be helmed by Ajay Mayekar who had earlier directed Shreyas Talpade in Marathi serial ‘Mazhi Tuzhi Reshimgath’.
