Top Gun: Maverick has become the highest-grossing movie of 2022 since the Tom Cruise starrer action drama has earned around 1.4 billion dollars globally. It is the second movie in the age of pandemics to accomplish this milestone after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Joseph Kosinski is the director of the movie, which is the longest-running box office success in a decade. He is surprised by the huge success of his film and still can’t believe it.
The movie which started selling as home entertainment on 23rd August at a hefty price has already completed its 12 weeks out of 13 staying in the top five grocers list at the domestic box office.

It grossed almost $683.4 million making it one of the top six highest-earning box office movies. It joined the list of super hit films like ‘Avatar’, ‘’Black Panther’, and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. This is a moment of pride to be a part of the epic movie for the film’s director, Kosinski.
Top Gun: Maverick release on OTT
Some of you would have missed watching maverick in theaters. Well, you need not worry as it will soon be released on the OTT platform to watch. Top Gun: Maverick will be accessible on Amazon Prime Video from today i.e. August 14 on a rental basis. The streaming platform already declared it on social media. Top Gun: Maverick will have a sequel?
Rumours are circulating that due to the high sales and immense success at the box office, Top Gun: Maverick will return with a sequel soon. If the sequel is made, the main question is whether there would be a more crucial ‘Top Gun’ universe or the series will proceed with Cruise holding the controls. However, Kosinski has clearly stated that right now he doesn’t know if there will be any sequel or not.
Oscar Expectations of Maverick
The director is very straightforward to pursue when it comes to Oscar expectations for this film. Maverick has been referred to as a great blockbuster which got acknowledged by the critics, the audience, and many award-season experts.
