Romance rumours are the essence of the actors’ world but, this time this romancing is definitely taking an extra edge. Ekta Kapoor’s latest discovery, Naghma Rizwan is going to romance Karan Kundraa in her upcoming web series.
Finally, Ekta has found the perfect face for her new web series titled, It Happened in Calcutta after an extensive search of almost 2.5 years and taking over 300 auditions. Naghma Rizwan is the new face for her web series who would be romancing the popular TV actor Karan Kundra in this series.
It’s the season of web series and most of the OTT platforms are hosting a diverse range of genres of web series. The content queen Ekta Kapoor’s has also taken over the digital platform Alt Balaji and she has been bringing in a lot of content of different flavours. Few of her action-packed deliveries includes- Boss starring Karan Singh Grover and Sagarika Ghatge, Elli Avram’s courtroom drama The Verdict State Vs Nanavati, Mahhi Vij’s Fixer, etc.
Ekta Kapoor has recently announced the release of her new web series that is set in the era of 1960s to 70s Kolkata. The series will be starring Karan Kundrra in the lead along with the latest discovery of Ekta who will be introducing a new face Naghma Rizwan who is supposed to play a titular role of Kusum.
The story of the series revolves around a young woman named Kusum, aspiring of becoming an esteemed doctor in the city. Treading for the same, she reaches Calcutta Medical College but, unlike her expectations romance enters her world where she meets the college stud Ronobir (Karan Kundrra) and falls in love with him.

Karan Kundrra is well known for his role in the TV show Dil Hi Toh Hai and he is supposed to play the lead role in the web series titled, It Happened In Calcutta.
Talking about his role in the series, Karan said, “It’s a role that will bring out the best in me because months of hard work have gone in prepping up my character.”
Throwing light on his character, Karan mentioned, “Ronobir Chatterjee is a medical college student who is flamboyant, arrogant and a ‘devastatingly’ handsome boy. It’s time to get my strongest flamboyant game on.”
It Happened In Calcutta will premiere on ALTBalaji.
