Farhan Akhtar Speaks Out About Casting Ranveer Singh Instead of Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3, Reveals Shared Emotional Journey

A few days ago, Farhan Akhtar took social media by storm when he released the first look of his upcoming film, Don 3. The film has been in the works for a long time and has been eagerly anticipated by fans. While many praised Ranveer Singh’s look as the new Don, others criticized the actor and director for replacing Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Shortly after Farhan released the teaser for Don 3, it received a lot of negative feedback from fans.

Earlier, Farhan Akhtar had said that Shah Rukh Khan had decided to step down from the Don franchise to make way for new actors. It was also reported that SRK had suggested Ranveer Singh’s name as his replacement. In a recent interview, Farhan responded to the trolls and criticism that he and Ranveer had received for Don 3. He said that he had faced a similar reaction when Shah Rukh was announced as the new Don after Amitabh Bachchan. Farhan praised Ranveer Singh and said that he was confident that the actor would be able to do justice to the role. He also said that the emotional process of casting a new Don was the same for both actors.

“When we announced that Shah Rukh Khan would be playing Don, there was a lot of backlash. People said that he was too young and good-looking to play a gangster. But Shah Rukh proved them wrong. He gave a brilliant performance and made the role his own.

“I’m confident that Ranveer will do the same. He’s a talented actor who can bring a lot of energy and charisma to the role. I’m excited to see what he does with it.”

Farhan Akhtar also said that he understood the fans’ attachment to Shah Rukh Khan as Don. However, he said that it was important to move the franchise forward and give it a new lease of life. He said that he was confident that Don 3 would be a success, with or without Shah Rukh Khan.
