Throwback: When Tom Holland spoke about the height stereotype

Tom Holland portrayed his role as Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spiderman series and create magic in the audience’s hearts. He played Peter Parker / Spider-Man in Marvel’s superhero films Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The Uncharted actor became the most loving character from the Spiderman series because of his innocent charm and brilliant acting. But many are trolled him for his height, and the actor always gives savage replies to the trollers. The actor trolled for his height now and then. He was trolled for his height when making his entry in Marvel’s Spiderman movie, and now he is again trolled for the two-inch height difference between him and his girlfriend Zendaya.

Once Tom said that height stereotypes were “ridiculous” and call back the moment when he was auditioned for his role as Spider-Man, “I remember when we were doing the ‘Spider-Man’ screen tests…but every girl that we tested for both roles was taller than me. I wonder whether that was a decision (director Jon Watts) had made. There was no one that tested that was shorter than I was. To be fair, I am quite short, “So maybe that was a decision Jon Watts made and something he was aware of and wanted to break the stereotype. I think it’s great.”

Zendaya also said, “honestly never thought of it as a thing because my parents were always that way, so I didn’t know that people cared”.

In Dec 2021, Tom was brutally trolled by haters for being ‘too short’ to date Zendaya. When the two appeared on Friday’s Sirius XM Town Hall.
As a host Jessica Shaw began asking the couple about their height difference during their onscreen kiss in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Tom chimed in, saying, “Not that much taller. Let’s put this out there. Maybe like an inch or two at best. It’s not like, people say like, ‘How did you guys kiss? It must have been so difficult.’
After Jessica cleared up that she viewed height constraints on women and men as “misogynistic” and “problematic,” Zendaya and Tom agreed — the latter calling it a “stupid assumption” that it would even be an issue. “This is normal too”, Zendaya added. “My mom is taller than my dad. My mom’s taller than everyone.”

On the work front, Tom’s new action-adventure movie ‘Uncharted’ has been released this week and receiving a great response from the audience.
