Ranveer Singh is all set for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra. But those who wanted to see Deepika Padukone and Ranveer once again in a Bhansali film will be disappointed.
According to the reports, Deepika is not the part of Bhansali’s dream project. And the reason might give you a shock. In the original Baiju Bawra released in 1952, Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari had played the two leads. Deepika is not in the film because of the remuneration.
“Apparently, Deepika wants the same remuneration as her husband. Not a penny more, not a penny less,” a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama.
Deepika is demanding and getting as much as the leading men in her recent films. As per campaign for pay parity among actors and actresses. However, this time, Bhansali has regretfully turned down her request for pay parity.
The tabloid quoted a source close to Bhansali Productions, “In a way, it works out for the better. Four Ranveer – Deepika films in a row from Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have been excessive, don’t you think?”
Previously it was reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan asked for Rs. 12 crores to play the role of Sita in Alaukik Desai’s film adaptation of the Hindu epic, Ramayan and she was trolled brutally for the same.
