During an annual Dussehra rally, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray talked about the recent raids taken out by the Narcotics Control Bureau. However, he did not name the investigative agency, but he said that they are interested in catching celebrities, getting their photos clicked and making noise.
The CM added that the central agency is recovering a small number of drugs, while Maharashtra police retrieved drugs of Rs 150 crore. “They catch a celebrity, click pictures and make noise around it. Our police only work while the news is about whether someone got bail or not,” CM Uddhav Thackeray said.
The CM also said, “An impression is being created that Maharashtra has become a hub of narcotics. Drugs worth crores were seized in Mundra port. Court asked for a probe. Which state is Mundra Port in?”
Thackeray referred to the nearly 3,000 kg of drug haul at Mundra Port in Gujarat which was recently worth Rs 21,000 crore.
In his speech, he added that the country has a big young population dealing with unemployment. “I am not talking about one young man. I am talking about the entire generation,” he said. “If they are not given job, they will explode like a bomb under your seats. You are proving them criminals for drug consumption.”
“If they are not getting jobs, how can we blame them? We are at fault for not helping them with their lives,” Thackeray added.
Meanwhile, in Aryan’s case heated arguments by the prosecution for Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the defence lawyers, Special Judge V.V. Patil kept his verdict on the bail pleas of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha.
